As the UK is in a national lockdown, most people aren’t using their vehicles as frequently, which means clutter and mess most definitely has built up.
It is also important to make sure that you have serviced your vehicle, as letting it sit on your drive can sometimes do more damage than good. Check out our blog post all about preparing your vehicle after lockdown.
Keep on reading to find out a few top car cleaning tips to help you get back on track.
Tidy up
We will all admit to leaving old food wrappers or water bottles in our vehicle, but the time has come to clear them out. Remove any rubbish in your vehicle, pick up any old change to prep it for a hoover. Use this time to check your glove compartment and side doors for any clutter.
Grab your hoover
It’s time to hoover all those crumbs from your floor, make sure to remove any car mats, which you can also clean whilst they are out. For your mats, it’s best to clean them with soapy water then leave to dry, whilst you finish the rest of your cleaning.
If your hoover has different attachments use the detailing brush to get into the small gaps around your vehicle. Also, make sure to give your seats a quick hoover.
Cleaning the dash and plastics
In winter our vehicles will get dirtier, so taking a wet cloth to the sides of your doors, seats and foot area will make a huge difference.
Using a damp microfiber cloth to your dash will help to remove any dirt or dust that is lying around. If your vehicle has any leather features make sure to use a leather cleaner to keep it looking brand new.
Cleaning the carpets
Once all your cleaning and hoovering is done, to go the extra mile you should give your carpets a scrub to lift any dirt and stains. This will leave them looking new again, whilst eliminating any odours.
Make it smell good
Now that all the hard work is done either spray an air freshener or purchase an air freshener that you can leave in your vehicle. This will help you to replace any lingering bad scents with a fresh and clean scent.
Hopefully, you have learnt a few new tips to help make your vehicle look brand new again. For products to use safely in your vehicle head to Halfords or any local car places.
